Mindfulness, Meditation & Nervous System Practices

Mindfulness, meditation, breathing, grounding, guided imagery, reflective writing, sound, body awareness, and gentle movement are optional practices. Participants may keep their eyes open, change position, pause, or decline any activity.

  • Do not practice while driving or operating machinery
  • Forced breathing, breath retention, or intense breathwork is not required
  • Choose a physically stable and reasonably safe environment
  • People with relevant medical or mental health concerns should consult a qualified provider
  • Nervous system education is not a diagnosis of nervous system dysfunction
  • Polyvagal-informed education and somatic awareness are not trauma therapy

Nervous System Education Disclaimer

ROSHHCO provides general education about stress, regulation, body awareness, autonomic nervous system concepts, and supportive wellness practices. This information is intended to help participants build vocabulary, notice personal patterns, and explore practical self-support. It is not a clinical assessment and does not determine whether a person has a medical, psychiatric, neurological, or trauma-related condition.

Terms such as "regulated," "dysregulated," "fight," "flight," "freeze," "shutdown," "ventral," "sympathetic," "dorsal," "window of tolerance," and "polyvagal-informed" are used as educational frameworks. They should not be used to label, diagnose, or explain every physical, emotional, behavioral, or relationship experience.

Use of Polyvagal-Informed Concepts

Polyvagal-informed concepts may be used as one accessible way to discuss safety, connection, mobilization, and shutdown. These concepts are presented as educational and reflective tools, not as settled explanations for all human behavior or as a substitute for individualized clinical care.

Therapeutic Art & Creative Activity

Therapeutic art experiences are offered to support reflection, mindfulness, self-expression, creativity, connection, and personal insight. They are not art therapy and are not provided as clinical mental health treatment. ROSHHCO does not diagnose participants or clinically interpret artwork.

Participants choose what to create, how much to share, and whether to answer a prompt. Creative work can bring up memories or emotions. Participants may pause, step out, request an alternative, or decline an activity without pressure.

Materials and Safety

Creative activities may involve paints, inks, adhesives, resin, jewelry components, heat tools, sharp tools, small parts, fragrance, or other materials. Participants must follow instructions, use provided protective equipment, and disclose known allergies, sensitivities, accessibility needs, or relevant limitations before participating.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, ROSHHCO is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of services, materials, events, websites, third-party platforms, or products. ROSHHCO is not responsible for decisions made by a client or participant based on educational information or coaching conversations.

Nothing in these policies excludes liability that cannot legally be limited or waived. Any limitation will be applied only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Crisis & Emergency Resources

ROSHHCO does not provide emergency response, crisis counseling, suicide prevention, domestic violence intervention, or urgent medical support. Emails, messages, social media, and coaching appointments are not monitored continuously.

In an emergency or when immediate safety is at risk:

  • ◆ Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department
